B-Mesmo
Three musicians from different nationalities meet in Lisbon and – inspired by the multicultural, vibrant metropole – create a unique sound, combining their cultural heritages. While Elena La Conte (Flute & Voice) brings some Italian temperament and a deep knowledge of Brazilian Folklore, Kristina van de Sand (Violin & Voice) from Germany joins in with jazz phrasing and years of string quartet experience. The luso-brazilian Walter Areia (double Bass, percussion) contributes the necessary roots and grooves for this international experience. After digging deep into the B-Sides of beautiful brazilian songs they started to find their own language, composing and arranging songs in a very specific way – for a very specific formation where the flute can also play Beatbox, the violin mutates into a Cavaquinho while the Bass plays a percussion solo.
